The river breeze blows from the world’s longest wooden footbridge, “Horai Bridge”. Enjoy a relaxing tea break there.

“Horai Bridge” was built over the Oi River in 1879 to connect Shimada-juku(town) and the Makinohara Plateau. The height had been developed as a tea plantation by former shogunate officials. Now, put on a haori coat(short Japanese overgarment) at the nearby “Yakunashi Chaya(teahouse)”, and enjoy some green tea by the Oi River.
