“Yama no Ie” is located near the Ikumi River, a tributary of the Oi River. It is very accessible, because the prefectural road runs right next to the facility. In addition to the accommodation house, there are also a campsite, tennis courts, and a multi-purpose plaza. They are all ideal for outdoor activities and sports training camps. However, please remember that reservations are required to use them. In addition, the adjacent “Yama no Shokudo(mountain restaurant)” serves meals such as wild yam dishes made with local ingredients. Of course, you can come here for lunch only.

Center House
When you drive to Yama no Ie from the road, you will see the “center house” in front. This is the office you register for each facility.
We have the “Yama no Shokudo(mountain restaurant)” in the center house.

They serve dishes made with local ingredients.
I ate the most popular dish, the ” Wild yam set meal”. The sticky yam was easy to swallow, and I ate it all in one go! Rice and yam with the flavor of the broth go well together. Those who like sticky food cannot pass it.
Besides the yam, there is a wide range of menu. From standard dishes such as curry, soba and udon noodles to kid’s lunch. Locationally, it’s a convenient place to stop by. Recommended as a lunch spot when driving upstream the Oi River.

Please go down the slope from the center house. A campsite is there next to the parking lot.

Camping stay
Camping stay is recommended for those who want to feel more connected to nature.
You can enjoy an extraordinary events such as stargazing and bonfires, etc. They will surely refresh your mind and body.
Campfire
You can have a campfire right next to the tent. Spending time around the flickering flames is sure to be a good memory!

Playing in the river
“The Ikumi River”, which flows next to Yama no Ie, is a popular river spot. Many people visit there in summer. The river is just down the stairs from Yama no Ie Campsite. It flows gently, and there are many living creatures. A great playground for kids. For detailed locations, see the map below.
*When using the Yama no Ie(includes the parking lot) and playing in the river, reservations and reception are required.
Catching Yamame fish(Japanese river trout)
You can catch live Yamame fish with your hands in a private pond. Then, grill them with salt, and eat them on the spot. It’s not only fun, but it’s an opportunity to learn the importance of life.
*Reservations required in prior to catch Yamame fish. The season runs from mid-April to mid-October.
Accommodation
As the accommodation house has a woody interior, it gives off a warm feeling.
Rooms are fixed with tatami mats with a pleasant scent. Why not lie outstretched on the mats!
The bath is made of spacious cypress. After enjoying BBQ and playing in the river, how about staying in the accommodation house? It gives you a different and extraordinary feeling comparing with camping.
Three large rooms can individually accommodate up to 20 people. Six small ones can separately accommodate up to seven.

The accommodation house has a spacious multipurpose hall and a large kitchen. The hall can be enjoyed even in rainy weather. In the multipurpose hall and meeting rooms, you can enjoy playing instruments and recreational activities. Concerts are sometimes held there.
We have seats for 120 people in front of the large kitchen. The hall can be used by a large group. Although you need to bring your own ingredients, all cooking utensils are prepared there. In addition, breakfast can be prepared by a prior reservation.
*The kitchen can be used by facility users only. It is not possible to use it alone.

Multipurpose plaza
In front of the accommodation house, there is a multipurpose field. It is about 5,600 square meters. You can play various sports such as soccer, ground golf, baseball, etc. Playing sports, outdoor BBQ(or cooking in the kitchen) and eating them together, and playing in the river. Finally camping in the site, or staying in the accommodation house. It is the perfect facility to deepen bonds with friends. Make fun memories!
*The multipurpose plaza can be used by facility users only. It is not possible to use it alone.
Tennis courts
The four tennis courts on artificial turf are sometimes used for tournaments. After enjoying tennis, some eat lunch in the nature-filled grounds, the others take a leisurely walk around the area to cool down. It is recommended for tennis training camps too.

“KADODE OOIGAWA” is an experiential food park for green tea, agriculture, and tourism. It is located just off the “Shimada Kanaya IC” on the Shin-Tomei Expressway. It makes accessible for those coming by car.
You can purchase locally grown fresh vegetables, fish, seasonings, beer, etc. It is the best place to find ingredients for BBQ.
In addition to purchasing stuff, you can experience various tea-related events. For example, “MANDARA”. Find and drink tea that suits you from 16 types of leaves. Also, “Green Tea Tours”. You can learn the process of making tea.
