Don’t underestimate. This museum lets you touch impressive specimens of bears, boars and deer!

A museum where you can learn about the nature and life of “Okuoi” region in the upper reaches of the Oi River. About 17,000 precious specimens of plants and animals! Kids are excited about the insect and fish specimens! You can have a guide of the exhibits by contacting us in advance.

・Shiryokan Yamabiko(museum) is operated with the aim of passing on the history and culture to the future generations. They were nurtured by the residents who were forced to relocate because the houses were submerged by the construction of the Nagashima Dam.
Please come and experience the nature, lifestyle and culture of the region. Please get a feel for what the people were like.
