Gigantic zodiac displays have been crafted since 1995 by members of the Oojidakai, an organization dedicated to revitalizing the Oojiro area.
The realistic textures, made from sustainably harvested local wood , bamboo, and straw, are particularly poplar.
It gets really crowded as people come to take photos for their New Year’s greeting cards and capture special annual memories.
