Guinness World Record! “Horai Bridge”. The longest wooden footbridge in the world.

The Horai Bridge is an auspicious bridge. It is a long wooden bridge, and its total length is 897.4 meters. In Japanese, it sounds yakunashi, and it means no misfortune. Besides, it is a bridge of longevity. With an atmosphere something out of a period, it has been used as locations for many movies and dramas. From the bridge, the views of Mt. Fuji is beautiful covered with snow in winter. In summer, you can see a sparkling sunset.
The other end of the bridge is a walking path leading to Makinohara Tea Plantation. There, we have a few blessing points. Two bells (the Bell of Love & Peace and the one of Longevity), and statues of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune.
After crossing back the bridge, how about taking a break. Please enjoy special tea and sweets in the 897.4 Teahouse at the foot of the bridge.
