Learning how to make Nerikiri handiwork(Japanese sweets made by mixing and kneading its ingredients) from the fourth-generation confectioner of “Ryugetsudo” shop.
Making Japanese sweets (Nerikiri handiwork) with a lesson from the fourth-generation confectioner of “Ryugetsudo” shop. We have been in business for over 110 years in Shimada City.
You will make three types Nerikiri. First a Mt. Fuji Nerikiri is typical of Shizuoka. Another two types Nerikiri change with the seasons.
The venue is “Japanese Cuisine Uoichi”, an old house built along the old Tokaido road. The Japanese sweets you make will be eaten with matcha tea. The tea bowl is “Shitoro ware” (a traditional and elegant pottery made in Kanaya, Shimada City). It is one of the “Seven Kilns of Enshu area”. Enjoy the beautiful Japanese sweets and conversation with the craftsman. Please savor the Japanese food culture unique to Shimada. For elementary school kids and above.
