Experience dyeing silk stole with the local black tea. It is produced by tea farmers in Shimada City.
Master Tatsuhiko Murai will teach you “Oigawa kuzufu cloth(Japanese arrowroot fiber cloth) “in the traditional workshop.
Silk stoles are comfortable on the skin. They can be worn with not only Western clothes, but perfect as obiage(a small article for Japanese kimono). During a break time, you can visit a steam locomotive at nearby Shin-Kanaya Station. Please take a walk around the area.
We have a lecture on a history and culture of Oigawa kuzufu cloth. You can touch the profound world of dyeing and weaving.
